The Photography
The majority of the images in this exhibition were taken on medium and large format Black and White film loaded into analogue cameras that range from 30 and 70 years of age. The earlier images for the boatyards (that make up the 16up prints) were taken in and around 2009 with 35mm film cameras and digital cameras.
Our Supporters
Atkins Photo Lab of Adelaide have generously supported the printing of this exhibition. They have meticulously and sensitively prepared and printed our images on 308gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag using archival inks. The prints have then been spray protected with an archival clear satin finish. Atkins are offering a range of options for the purchase of our prints, see below.
RenewalSA provided us with unprecedented access to some of the empty State Goverment owned buildings in and around the Port. We are grateful for this access as without it three quarters of these images would not be on these walls. Purchasing a Print
All images are printed on 308gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag with archival inks.
The square prints are available in the following sizes; 35cm square, 50cm square, 80cm square and 150cm square (including white border). The pan print at the entry is available at 237x80cm (including white border). Atkins Pro Lab are offering three different ways to purchase our prints. The "Smooth Art Paper Sprayed" option means the 308gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag prints are protected with a clear satin spray finish allowing the prints to potentially be framed without the use of protective glass or perspex. This is the option we used in the exhibition. These prints are shipped in a roll. The "Eleanor Package" option is the 308gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag print mounted with an acid-free high quality pressure sensitive adhesiveon on a choice of three different mounting materials, Gator foam, MDF or DiBond. Gator foam is light and rigid, much stronger than traditional foam board. MDF is a traditional favourite, very strong and very rigid. DiBond is a state-of-the-art material, a light skin of aluminium sandwiching a dense foam core. It is rigid and truly archival. These mounted prints can me taken to a framer for custom framing. The "Anna Package" option is the 308gsm Hahnemuhle Photo Rag print which has been mounted and framed . The frames come in black, white, teak, birch, walnut and silver. The print will be carefully mounted to board with archival adhesive, then framed in Italian sourced mouldings with a lightweight acrylic glazing that protects the print. The frames have hangers on the back ready to go. Due to the many and varied options for mounting and framing, please discuss any custom framing needs directly with Atkins Photo Lab. Contact info;
